Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What qualifications do I need to have in order to apply for your 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program?
A: Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be a yoga expert to successfully complete a YTT program. You also don’t have to have teaching or instructing experience to successfully completely a YTT program.  It is not a requirement  for you to be flexible or physically strong.  What you do need is a willingness to learn and be open to self-transformation that will inevitably take place.

Q: Is your YTT program only for people that want to become Yoga Teachers?
A: Not at all!  If your intention is to be a student only (and not teach Yoga classes), you are more than welcome to go through my YTT for personal growth and to gain an in-depth knowledge about Yoga.

Q: What is the cost of your YTT program?
A: The total cost of the program is $1600 if you pay per module ($400 per module);  If you pay in full, I offer a $150  discount which brings the tuition down to $1450.

Q: Why is the cost of your YTT  lower than most YTT programs out there?
A: I believe that becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher should be available to all people, rich or not.  If I could make the teacher training free, I would! Unfortunately, due to the time spent creating the teacher training manual, teaching the actual curriculum, costs associated with registration and insurance renewals, the tuition amount that I have come up with is the bare minimum that I need to charge to break even.  Although I have kept the tuition fee as low as possible, I did not cut any corners in the quality of the training you will receive.

Q: Are you registered with Yoga Alliance®?
A: Yes!  I am a E-RYT (Experience Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Alliance) which means I have completed at least 1,000 teaching hours (I have completed over 3,000 teaching hours as of May, 2021) and my YTT program is registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYS (Registered Yoga School). Upon successful completion of my program, you will receive a certificate of completion that you will be able to use to register with Yoga Alliance for your RYT200 Status.
I am also a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider), so if you’re already a RYT, you will be able to receive more than enough continuing education hours to fulfill 3 years of Yoga Alliance requirements.

Q: Are the sessions in-person or virtual?
A: Just for 2021, the sessions will be a combination of in-person  at my home studio in Aubrey, TX and virtual via Zoom.  Starting in February 2022, all sessions will be in person.

Q: How many scheduled training session can I miss and still complete the YTT program?
A: Until February 2022, Yoga Alliance® requires you to complete a minimum of 180 Contact Hours. (The new guidelines after February 2022 will require all 200 Hours to be  in front of the lead Yoga Teacher.) My YTT program  meets for 192 hours (Four Modules consisting  of 48 hours each), so you can miss 12 hours and still meet the requirements for my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Alliance®. In the event that you miss more than 12 hours due to unforeseen circumstances, you can make up the hours by scheduling private sessions with me for a discounted rate only available to my YTT Students.

Q: How long do I have to complete the YTT program?
A: You have up to TWO YEARS to complete the YTT program (4 modules).  Due to the way I have created the modules, it is best to take the modules in sequential order for better understanding; however, taking the modules in order is not a requirement.

Q: How much time will I be expected to spend on homework?
A: It all depends on how quickly you’re able to finish reading, writing and completing your homework assignments.  There won’t be too many homework assignments, as you will have more than enough time during the sessions to complete  them.  Typical assignments will be keeping a journal of your yoga practices, self-reflection, and watching short videos.  During each module, you will receive a list of recommended books relating to the topics of discussion.

Q: Will there be a test?
A: Yes.  There will be a short written test and essay at the end of each module.  We will go over the answers to the tests many times in class, so you can rest assured that you will be more than prepared!

Q: When is your next YTT?
A: The tentative start date is as follows:

YTT

Q: How do I register and pay?
A: Once you request an application for the Yoga Teacher Training program, you will receive instructions on how to complete your registration and payment process.
